As stated in another review, the wire that comes with it is not 14 AWG. I don't think the Explorer is even 16 AWG. It could be August 18th or 20th. A typical H4 high beam bulb can draw 10 amps through this connector. The connector itself can live, but the tiny wires cannot. Plan to get spare terminals and just crimp them yourself to the wires you want to run to the lights (I suggest 14-12 AWG). Only time will tell if the ceramic plug itself is any good.
