Let me first say that this is an honest review and I am not a professional drone enthusiast. I read all the reviews before I had to drive it. I can tell you that I don't agree with any of the negative comments I've read. For starters, I think the coolest thing about this drone is that you can control it from your smartphone or tablet. The control interface is overlaid with live feeds from the camera. I feel like the controls on the phone work just as well as the controller it comes with. Actually, you can draw an OBS flight plan and the drone will follow it. This part isn't that accurate, but it's really cool. The camera is surprisingly better quality than I expected, but it's definitely not the 4K you might be used to. It was very easy for me to download the media recorded on it and save it to my phone for editing. It seems to have a decent range, but you have to be careful not to go too high and lose it. I didn't find it very stable in high winds which was a big downside for me. You get two sets of knives and two batteries, which I found exceptional. The battery lasts about 20-25 minutes, so about an hour is more than enough to do whatever you want with it. It has a 360 degree flip mode and I never understood why drones have them, it seems a little pointless but cool to see lol. I thought it was more fun working without the Prop Guards, but they will come in handy until you learn how to operate them at a higher level. It folds up and is very easy to transport. This is a SUPER great gift idea and I'm looking forward to the x500.
