Let me start by saying that these locks are amazing. They kept my kids away π and were easy to install. BUT they are very difficult to remove without ruining the door. I had six of these on six different doors in my house. We had to remove them as we are painting doors to sell our house. When I saw the seller offering to rent I was skeptical but I tried it my way. As you can see from the photo, it ruins my door. It was also very difficult to detach the fishing wire and the glue practically stuck to the door. When I finally took it off, the paint on the door was gone. I deduct a star for that. Anyway, after some research on the internet I found an easier way to remove this. You will need: - a hair dryer - a butter knife (preferably one you don't miss) What you need to do is blow hot air from a hair dryer over the child lock for about 3 minutes, then when the heat has stopped blowing, Take butter knife and try to pry it off the door. CAREFULLY. SLOW. Once the lock is removed, some glue will remain. Keep blowing hot air on the glue, and then slowly peel off the glue.
