I had to change it 20 times before I found the right size and at that point I didn't need it anymore. I've done reviews with everyone who kept saying the size was too big, well it's not, for one of my kids. Start with your child's current size and then find out if you need more or less. The shoes were cute and comfortable, but I was really upset that I kept ordering a size too small, so I sent them back and bought a different brand.
