I love the shorts and my grandson does too but unfortunately this brand is not made like Nike or Under Armour, they run large. He usually wears a large 12/14, but they were a bit large at the waist and 3.4 inches below the knee. I recommend 1 size smaller than what your child normally wears. Updated 09/28/19. I kept the shorts for myself and ordered a size smaller for my grandson (medium 10/12). They fit perfectly.
