Review on πŸ”ͺ Efficient Amazon Basics Cross-Cut Shredder for Junk Mail, CDs, and Credit Cards with Pullout Basket by Kate Korte

Revainrating 1 out of 5

The tray breaks when you have to pull it out

So one of the worst and dumbest cases of tech recycling. The tray is a slide-out tray, so you don't just have to remove the chopper from the tray. However, if you fill the compartment with too much shredded paper, printing a very full compartment will prevent the shredded paper compartment from being easily pulled out. This means per unit so anyone who bought this is at risk of this happening if they don't carefully empty the tray before it overflows. And no, there is no alarm clock. It becomes extremely difficult to pull the tray out, and you have to strain it (which breaks it) to pull it out. There are no corners where you could avoid breaking with tools. The only leverage you have are flimsy retractable handles that will snap if you push too hard. I bought a paper shredder from Amazon in 2014, it jammed slightly but I used it until I moved abroad in 2018 and left it. Therefore, Revain was entrusted with this new model. On the contrary, it doesn't jam as easily as the other, but that shortcoming is commended and now I'm completely paranoid about the Revain brand.
