Review on NICECNC Silver Billet Aluminum Clutch Master Cylinder Rod Permanent Repair Mod for Ford Mustang V6, GT, Cobra 2005-2014 by Larry Daniels

CYLINDER ROD MUST POINT FULLY INTO TRUNK (may require some filing)

SAME POINT as plastic eyelet. If you don't, you're increasing the stroke you're pushing, which can destroy your entire clutch master cylinder. I have a 2006 S197 Mustang. My part did not initially cover the cylinder rod. Using a small round dremel (or hand file) I drilled out the hole a bit. Then my replacement eyelet slipped off, but there was still a pinched piece of mouthguard under the replacement eyelet. You MUST remove the eyelet, drill a little more so the cylinder rod is fully seated and all the way back in the inner hole of the eyelet. The swollen part of the cylinder rod must not be visible! On Friday my car was towed to the nearest store. Ordered, received on Sunday, mounted on the car in the parking lot and drove home. I saved $700 replacing the clutch master cylinder! With some basic modifications (small rubbing of soft aluminum) this part is functional. I suspect that a small threaded hex bolt will be the weak point of this system. It was tiny, difficult to tighten and would likely come loose. BUT, this part is a great replacement for what was originally supposed to be metal.

Pros
  • Excellent design
Cons
  • Upgradeable
