So far so good for spinach smoothies. I pulled the styrofoam foil out of the lid as it was stuck to the smoothie leftovers and wouldn't come off. I can't really attest to their airtight nature as I never hold them on their sides and my smoothies are a bit thick so there really isn't any chance of leakage. So far they hold up well in the dishwasher - I put the lids on the third shelf which is for dishes/serving spoons.
