Works well. If you prepare the suction cup properly

This rattle mount is great for placing my radar detector on the dash. It stays in place and is solid. I had no problems with it slipping and I didn't have to use an anchor, but still. BUT. You need to prepare the suction cup! I bought 2 of these. The first one didn't stick and I tried everything (I thought) and finally just glued the suction cup to the beanbag, which technically worked. After some Googling and watching YouTube on how to fix a failed suction cup mount, I ordered a second one. When they arrive packaged, the suction cup arm will be in the locked position. The problem is that the suction cup has been stored in this position for a long time and forms a "permanent" concavity. So if you take it right out of the box and try to install it, it's not a stick. So this time, the first thing I did was unlock the suction cup arm, then run a hair dryer over it for a few minutes to heat up and release the rubber suction cup (be careful not to use too much heat or you might melt it). ! ). I then left it open at room temperature overnight to give the cup enough time to return to its normal flat state. The next morning I used an alcohol pad on both the beanbag and the suction cup, attached it and it worked! Another change I made was replacing the included Velcro with a heavy duty 3M double zip. My radar detector bounced too much with velcro and now it's stable with a double clasp. With a few caveats I mentioned above, this is otherwise a great dash mount!
