Each of my tanks has a healthy colony of ram snails, but I noticed that in my smallest tank many of them seemed to die early with pale shells. A regular test kit showed all my levels were normal, so I knew I might need to make sure they had enough calcium. The test is easy to use, especially given the experience of using a large test set. The results were quick and easy to read, now I know when to add some calcium for my hard shell friends, it takes all the guesswork out.
