Ideal for spectrophotometers and colorimeters. Accessories

Really cool. Fill vial with sample. Insert into the reader, press the button. Fill vial with reagent, turn upside down. read results. Really easy. However, it gets four stars for problems from all Hannas testers. Reagent closure tabs always break. And they should include a microfiber cloth.

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • There are even more interesting options.

Good but needs a little quality improvement

This tester is essential for the reef hobbyist but I would recommend the manufacturer to reinforce the battery connector/holder that holds the battery in place. The first attempt to replace the battery broke it. Luckily I was able to put it back together and get it working.

Pros
  • Easy to install
Cons
  • Protection

Must-have for seawater

Just received it today and it's great. I hate trying to decipher when the color changes on normal tests. I've tried to keep the alkalinity at 9.0 but it's hard to tell if it's 9.0 or 9.8 [precisely in as broad a range as I thought I was] I'm pleased To be able to report that I checked right away and it was 9.0! Checked again to be sure. 9.0 again. I highly recommend this product

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled

DO NOT BUY! - Laboratory instruments and equipment

Would never recommend. I bought it because it looked simple and was easy to use. The tester said it was 3.3 dch. I started taking more and more every day. Eventually things started dying so I decided to take them to the fish shop to see how accurate they were. DKH WAS 17. That's so high! I CHECKED THE DEVICE AGAIN AFTER THREE AND IT STILL SHOWED ME 3.3!

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Can't remember

Never return to API test

These things are wonderful! I will never go back to slow sinking and counting. Those API tests that you can get from petsmart cost about the same price as this one. But I say you'll be glad you did. They're a little expensive. I buy the important ones individually every few weeks and they work great. I'm telling you they are more accurate than the API, trust me.

Pros
  • nice thing
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something

Challenging but accurate.

More tricky to use than just dripping the solution into a vial, but should be more accurate. Used several times, then set aside until the Red Sea Alk Test Solution is used up. which is just faster and easier. The standard battery didn't make good contact, every time I opened the lid it turned off making it impossible to use as you had to open/close it twice to do a test (calibrate then measure). I replaced it with a new battery and everything was fine.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • I'll write back later

Everyone should have one

This was my first Hanna Checker, I used Red Sea. It is easy to use and gives good results. It's impossible to guess when the color changed, especially when testing in the evening when it's darker. I place the test tubes in the checker the same way each time. Usually the gap is in the "fill to" line. Give it to me, make sure it's clean. I didn't have to use any fancy glass/lens cleaners, just a paper towel if there are visible fingerprints. then bam you get your results. No guesses.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Requires power outlet

You must have your own RODI seawater solution

This is my personal opinion. If you use this for aquariums. To calibrate the device, you must have a clean, unused RODI seawater solution on hand. So if you want to have a quick look, it's not that convenient. To a lesser extent, perform water changes and prepare new water. Then when you do a water change, you need to wait for the water to fully mix and settle. So it's not a quick check. Now you can mix solutions, but again it takes some time to transfer everything. So I would call us a test…

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
