Type of review

Most of our floors are not carpeted and as we have a dedicated fish room we test a lot of water. Since my husband knows how to drop and break them, we needed these replacement parts. However, their price is too high considering they break so easily. Tried to find an analogue of another brand, but to no avail.

Exactly as described

Product exactly as described. Delivered undamaged, well packaged. No matter how careful things sometimes break. I wanted a few more tubes to replace the 2 that were broken and also wanted to be able to test multiple tanks without having to clean in between. I doubted the price, did I really need 24? But getting only 24 made more sense than just 3 or 6. I'm glad I made testing a lot easier.

Dangerous to fish and aquatic life

I use the api master test kit a lot and the tubes and caps that come with it work great. For some reason the lids don't close properly when you replace them and when you shake them to do the test the liquid squirts out. At least two test solutions can be corrosive to metals and cause damage to skin and eyes. I really don't understand how safe it is to use them. I also don't understand how the test can be accurate since with each shake you lose both the water from the tank and the test solution.

  • Great design

Great tubes, buy different caps

I upped my usual water tests to 8 tests and have several reservoirs that required about two dozen tubes. The 5ml scale is accurate for the tests provided by API but their caps tend to leak so I went ahead and bought the regular rubber stoppers and they work great. Included is a link to stubs that are a good fit. The right but expensive leaky hose for your water analysis kits

Too bad they come in such large quantities but luckily I have lots of testing to do. Not cheap at $0.50 each, but the best unit price I can find. They leak when shaken, which is common with water tests. Not good for shaking harsh chemicals. They break because they're small and glassy, but not quite as fragile as grandma's wine glasses. The caps fit perfectly (except for leaks) and the tubes snap onto the ends. They're OEM, come with 5ml markers, caps and all, but they're a bit pricey. flow too.

Just be a little more responsible when it comes to shipping.

Test bottles are fine. No complaints. The cheapest way is to buy them in bulk. But the box was opened during shipping. A tiny piece of tape is required to prevent this. In the end I only got 22 instead of 24. Two broke. Fortunately not anymore. There is no way to contact the seller on Revain and my only claim option is to return everything for an exchange. Considering I have an API hose left without this kit and am running a brand new reservoir I can't afford not to have these hoses so I'm just

Excellent multi tank kit

I have 3 reservoirs and my friend has 3 reservoirs so this kit is great for not having to constantly unload, clean, dry and refill new tubes after each set of tests for each tank . I would suggest placing a $6 test tube rack somewhere on the Revane so you don't tip it over and break it like I have in the past. I love these test tubes though. You can tell it is genuine API brand with correct 5ml sizes and well sealed caps on the tubes. No complaints here. If you are an experienced aquarium owner

Extra tubes come in handy

My son accidentally broke the two glass tubes that came with the ammonia and pH test kits. Just when I needed it most, I had nothing. The pandemic made matters worse, with Petco and PetSmart always selling out. So I made sure to order a set of 24 in case of further accidents. The glass isn't that thick, but it's clear, so you can read colors well, which is important. I'm skeptical about using plastic bottles because I'm not sure how transparent they will be for a good read. Also, I prefer glass
