Prioritize form over function

This is a beautiful chair, but a lot of that good looks comes at the expense of comfort. First off, there are holes in the back of the chair for the lumbar support cushion. run through. These holes are framed by hard plastic. When I sit in my chair, these hard plastic pieces are right where my shoulder blades are. No problem when sitting upright, but when you lean back they dig into your shoulders painfully. Not at all suitable for lying down for more than a few minutes at a time. The lumbar support pillow is huge; When I use it, it's literally the only thing touching my entire back. The back is also hourglass shaped, wide at the top and bottom but thin in the middle, right where my elbows are. When I lean back, it forces my unsupported arms to fall straight down, a hard plastic ridge digging into the back of my shoulders. Another striking example of the dominance of form over functionality. The seat has these "wings" on the sides that I think make it look like a race car. Beautiful, but they have absolutely no practical function, and therefore it is very uncomfortable to stretch your legs. Sitting cross-legged or just spreading your legs a little is just not possible in this chair. And when you're at a desk for a long time, that kind of flexibility is really needed. The seat is also thicker in the front and thinner in the back. This puts extra pressure on my lower legs, which becomes uncomfortable after a while. Worse, the back seat is thin enough that I can feel the hard metal plate underneath if I press down lightly with my hand, and my tailbone hurts after an hour of sitting. The armrests are thin, very sleek, and slope down the sides. That means when I press them, my hands immediately slip off. Which isn't really a bad thing because they don't go up very far so my elbows can't reach them when I'm sitting up and I don't get any support at all. My pillow problem is actually the opposite of everything else. Chair; it is comfortable but looks ugly. There's nothing in the frame designed to hold a pillow, it's just a pillow with an elastic strap that stretches awkwardly across the top of the chair frame. I don't know if this latest issue was caused by Respawn or Revain, but the box that came with it fell apart upon delivery. I had to buy a new box before I could return the chair. Big boxes are expensive! This chair might be fine if you're only going to sit for a short amount of time and want to look cool in front of your friends, but I would absolutely not recommend it to anyone who will be sitting for more than an hour at a time. .
