Smart iPod protection

I don't understand why other people get scratches on their iPods from this case. Unless there was some manufacturing defect in the particular case they purchased, I can't figure it out. Designed to fit both the smaller 30GB iPod AAC/MP3 Video Player Black (Gen 5.5) and the 80GB iPod classic (Black), this case features a removable plastic insert that allows for tidy housing of the 30th GB is required . . Had this part not been removed before someone attempted to install a larger iPod, I would have seen it scratch the iPod in its case. I was so pleased with the DLO VideoShell iPod 80GB & 160GB Case? Classic with stand which I bought for my 80GB (larger case that fits an 80GB and a 160GB Apple iPod classic (black)), I bought one of these for my 30GB. Again, I love the looks and the functional stand that allows me to propped up my iPod to watch videos - restaurants when I should be eating alone is a favorite spot, or I can use my bedside table as a travel alarm clock. 30GB will fit, although you'll need to remove a small rectangular piece of plastic from the case before inserting it. It has a pair of plastic protrusions that protrude from the surface at right angles. Insert the 30GB iPod (gently) and then rotate the flat part of the plastic rectangle toward the back of the iPod and slide it back into the case - it only goes halfway, don't push it any further because it keeps the iPod upright when in use. If you're going to use this case with an 80GB iPod, you don't need the plastic insert at all and should toss it in a drawer where you'll soon forget it. A few months later you'll empty the drawer, wonder what the item is for, and then put it back because it might be important. Without this habit, I would have much neater drawers.
