I was a little apprehensive about using this because my 82 lb lab mix pulls on the leash like crazy. We've tried everything: the martingale and the regular collar and harnesses and walking collars that turn your head when pulled. She always pulled like crazy. I received it today. It has an 18 inch neck, +/- a little, and I pulled 2 links. I could pull out 1 more if I wanted it to be super tight. In its current form it is dense and does not slip off the back. She usually waits until you tell her to let go and then runs away. I sat her down, put the collar on her and went out the door as usual. When I ordered her to free herself, she didn't run away as usual. ok, i only had to give a little nudge once on our mile long walk when she warned of a squirrel running across the road and she started preparing me for a bolt wiggle. I will update again after having it for a while but I am so happy now and she seems to be doing very well with this collar! Would definitely recommend to anyone who has a dog that pulls on a leash/leash.
