Product description means "Made in the UK". The item I received is marked "Made in China". Chrome Face steel blade. This tool is NOT ACCURATE --- NOT 90 degrees --- measured 1/16" stroke on a 12" barrel. NOT SUITABLE for my needs. Very disappointed. I have a 12" model---made in the UK and it's accurate.Stainless steel blade.UPDATE review:AMAZON sent me a replacement block.Thanks AMAZON for the great CS and fast shipping.Machined slot in moving head, wasn't properly milled. It's not a Starrett, but close enough for woodworking tasks. Changed my rating from 2 to 4 stars.
