On reassembly I noticed that there were cracks around the mounting holes on both eyeguards. By default, the left wheel was loose, and the wheel mounting flanges were found to be bent, resulting in 1/4 inch runout - enough that the wheel couldn't turn because it hit the wheel housing. The customer service department doesn't seem to exist, but when I also emailed the sales and parts department, I finally got a response. The sales departments responded within 3 days and the parts were delivered to me within a week. In the last email I included the model number, serial number, my shipping address and a list of parts needed. The Rikon sales department placed an order for spare parts and sent them to me free of charge under warranty. Somewhere out there I also contacted Woodcraft and they said to call them back for a diagnosis. Didn't get it at first, but Woodcraft's return policy isn't as good as Revain's; You need to pay the return shipping even if the item is defective. Removing the bent flange was incredibly difficult. It took me about half an hour to wiggle and pry with a large screwdriver. More than a month after buying it, I was finally able to use the grinder, which is good for sharpening drill bits, except for the annoying groove in the left wheel stop. I will definitely replace this phone with something more useful. As noted in the WOOD Magazine review, the palm rest is tricky to set up. Luckily, there are many replacement parts that you can buy or make yourself. Those issues aside, the grinder appears to be a well-made tool, and the included grinding wheels and diamond tool mean you can use it straight out of the box - assuming you don't have any defective parts, of course.
