I used these to install a 600 pound porch swing. Secures over a double 2x6 (lays flat and securely attaches to the porch supports) over the porch ceiling using 1/2" x 4 1/2" zinc plated bolts with lockwasher, large washer and nut. For reference, before purchasing the gear, take a swing hanger to make sure it fits. Do not use carriage bolts as the flat head is too wide to slide past the nuts at the pivot point. Although you can slide the pan head through the pivot points, carriage bolts typically have a square or hexagonal base under the pan head that will NOT fit a finely drilled 1/2 inch diameter hole.
