The product has already been used and damaged.
I bought it as a gift and took it on the plane to the other side of the world. I was very ashamed when it was opened. Dry food was stuck in the cracks, packaging and vegetable oil were smeared on the front. It also had an odd smell. The item is obviously used and has not been cleaned. There were a few small scratches on the outside. There were extensive scratches on the non-stick surface inside. I suspect the previous owner scratched and damaged the non-stick coating. I flew the product back to the US to return it. :-(
