So I recently installed a new water filtration system that requires electricity. Unaware that the outlet shared with the garbage chute is either disconnected from the power switch or completely disabled when the switch is off. This caused some problems which resulted in me shutting down my garbage chute for a full week as it fed my water filter until I could find a solution. Fearing that the power would ever go out and any other appliance I would consider just calling the garbage chute to turn it on, I needed something with a switch that I could easily control. That was it. The ideal solution. All I have to do now is just open my closet and flip the switch, and my garbage chute will go up and down when it's done. Hooray. Happy tourist.
