It's a bit more expensive than some of the other thermometers I've seen here, but I think the price is fair considering you're paying for extra features and a more compact design . Large "makeshift pistols" take up much more space in a diaper bag. I really like that I can turn off the beep; who wants to risk waking up a sick child unnecessarily. The memory feature is also useful for tracking the progression of a fever at night when you probably don't have the energy or motivation to record your temperature. The keys are labeled so you can easily remember their use even if you lose the instructions. It also came with a velvet drawstring pouch which makes me feel better about keeping it in my diaper bag as there are more crumbs and loose fruit snacks in there than I care to admit. All in all, this is a good home thermometer, especially if you are caring for young children. I will update my review if there are any issues but I see no reason to expect this.
