The plunge mechanism tends to wobble and sometimes falls unevenly unless I'm holding the metal base with my other hand. After four different types of coarse beans, it is rarely as smooth as in the video. Coffee can be amazing if you take the time to experiment with beans, grind size, water temperature, and grind-to-water ratio. Follow the instructions on the packet of beans. Even small deviations in the ratio make a big difference in taste. Cleaning after each brew definitely helps in getting the best coffee flavor. It's fairly easy to clean, but I've occasionally caught my fingers in the metal mesh. I disassembled and reassembled it fairly quickly. I'm very glad that I didn't keep throwing away and buying filters. Overall I would buy it again although I wish it ran as smoothly as it looks.
