Tekpower TP3005DF First of all, now semi-retired, I've "made" electronics for over 60 years, both professionally and as a hobby (I always say that to those who let people know where I'm from with these reviews). I have a small (4 foot long) but well equipped maintenance stand in the radio room. On the adjacent shelf there is a regulated 13.6 V 20 A power supply (as well as another one for operating radios in the working position). This PS was designed to work with "big" radios. I also had a small homemade 4 channel adjustable PS that I developed for working on small projects. It could supply up to 1 amp each at 5, 12, 1.25-15 and 1.25-15 volts. NO measurement, it had to be checked with an external measuring device. Sometimes I needed more current than a homemade one could give, at a voltage other than 13.6 volts. I decided it was time to get down to business and buy a more suitable PS. I've been in the business long enough now to know what a GOOD PSU should and shouldn't do! I've done a lot of research and looked at ALL the different options Revain has to offer and they offer LOTS of performance options. THE MOST IMPORTANT thing is that it MUST be LINEAR PS, switchmode power supplies often make LOTS of noise which affects radio performance, which is not good when you are troubleshooting or optimizing a device. In addition, the range from 0 to at least -15 volts is easy and accurate to set (some with a single range are sensitive). It also had to be well tuned and stable to maintain tuning under load changes and over long periods of time. The internal measurement of voltage and current was very important to me. Efficient cooling, preferably with temperature measurement, was also a must. ********************************** After a few weeks After having studied many specifications and reviews and over various After considering models, I chose the Tekpower TP3005D for a number of reasons. My first thought was that I only need 0-15 volts to 3 amps, adjustable and current limiting in case something shorts out in the tester. But in the end I figured there wouldn't hurt to buy more horsepower than my minimum requirement like I once bought if it's not big enough for something you're in the creek without a paddle! Отсюда и причина покупки 0 Модель -30В 5А!************************************Хорошо, насколько хорошо She works? All I can say is absolutely WONDERFUL! I never thought I could buy so many PSs of this quality for less than $100. I bought two of these as sometimes I need two different voltages to power different devices at the same time. They sit on the top shelf of my workbench, plugged in and ready to use. The day they arrived I set up some large resistive loads to have a steady load of 4 amps at 15 volts (I figured a 60 watt load would be a good workout). I set the voltage to exactly 15 volts with no load using one of my Desktop Digital Virtual Machines and then checked the internal counters. The internal meter (at 15V shows 14.9V. Trust me, the accuracy of 0.1V (one tenth of a volt) (the resolution limit of the internal meter) is VERY good for such a device. Load 4A on the PS , still monitoring the output with external DVM and reading the voltage with a load of 4 A. Nothing changed AT ALL, the output voltage was still 15.0 V. With this load, the ammeter showed 4 amps +/-, I have forgot to write the exact value but for all practical purposes it was accurate.*********************************** ** * I wanted to run this load for a while and see how well the unit's fan is handling the cooling. The fan kicked on after a few minutes and the air that came out was warm, but not what I was looking for kept excessively hot I should have put a thermistor on the fan outlet but didn't notice.. This condition for two hours (gray test) The voltage stayed absolutely sta bil bei ur It was 15 V. Nothing smelled hot or unusual. After testing was complete, I unplugged the loads and left the power supplies on (set to exactly 13.6V) 24/7 for a few days, no load. During that time, every time I checked its output, the voltage stayed exactly as I set it. You won't get anything better. A NOTICE. When you adjust the output voltage, you can hear the relay changing the taps of the transformer. This is GOOD as it means the regulator's pass transistors should NOT be dropping much more voltage (read power/heat) than necessary! Relays switch at approx. 8, 15 and 23 volts.**************************************** ** ****** * I've had the chance to use them quite a few times since they arrived. They are convenient to use. Switch it on, set the voltage and connect the DUT, then have fun (or get to work).**************************** *** ***** ****** NOTE: I'm NOT the type to give flower reviews, I call them what I see but in my book this PS is a DEFINITE 5+! After extensive testing, I gave my homemade PS to a local ham to use.
