Review on ☕ Breville BES840XL Infuser Espresso Machine: A Premium Stainless Steel Brewing Experience by Kaveen Reyes

First of all I like this car. I have had a BES820 for several years. A small piece of hose or connector broke a few years ago, but a local repair shop who could buy parts from Breville at the time fixed it and it's been a champ ever since. So I got another one for our country house. So far, so good. But now the BES820 has broken again and I found out that due to a policy change it is NO LONGER REPAIRABLE because they don't sell parts to repair shops. That's a lot of resources to go down the drain because the company has decided they want you to buy more of their machines. This is how I went from being a dedicated Breville user to a true Breville espresso lover. Very disappointed with this company. Update: I found out that they (Breville) have a policy to fix cars for a flat fee of $249. I assume everyone pays their own shipping costs to return the system to the company. If they can't fix it, they will replace it. [Hopefully this also ends up in the recycling or repair waste stream rather than landfill.] However, we opened up our broken machine to find that the vibration had just ripped off an electrical connector. So it was easy to fix and free. I'm ambivalent about this. Good thing it's fixable, that's for sure. It still frustrates me that they don't make repairs easier/cheaper because they don't sell parts to third parties. I would be so pissed off if I sent the entire setup back to the company and paid $325 (flat fee plus shipping) for just a loose wire that I could fix with no tools or parts. While things quickly get complicated under the hood, it's definitely worth looking inside to make sure it's something very obvious and easy to fix.
