This is an interesting pre-workout blend. Most of them are chocolate or vanilla flavored, and this one claims to be a strawberry marshmallow. In fact, mixed with simply filtered water, I smelled strawberry flavor but no marshmallow. Which is good, the strawberry flavored notes were lovely. There is an odd side or aftertaste and I have not been able to pinpoint the source. I took Pycnogenol (a patented pine bark) but it was always in capsule form so no real taste. Either way, that inexplicable taste is a bit distracting and the blend is easy to drink. As for NO, I prefer citrulline over arginine. This is based on my personal research into how the body metabolizes each and its role in NO synthesis. So I prefer citrulline. Although I have it in powder form, I usually take it in capsule or tablet form. So I understand and appreciate that the primary ingredient in this powder is Citrulline (as 2:1 Citrulline Malate), 3g per 5.5g scoop. Path. But for the first test, I drank 8 ounces of water from about 3/4 scoop. After about 15 minutes I did a workout on a stationary bike. I ran 12 miles in probably one of the worst times. Now it could be the placebo effect. I also exercised less during the day and felt more energetic. I really think the caffeine powder gave me an energy boost. I drink black coffee and I know the caffeine rush. And I would say that this powder has a mild effect caused by caffeine. The product has a number of certifications/badges: colorant-free, sugar-free, peanut-free, gluten-free, site-licensed (I don't know what that badge means to be honest), Made in Canada, and cGMP. The last certification is the most important for me, certifying Good Manufacturing Practices in terms of processing integrity. This is the first pre-workout powder to have a label with instructions on how to store the container in the freezer once opened. to avoid lumps. Not to preserve freshness but to prevent clumping. I'll keep it on the kitchen table and monitor its condition. If it looks like it's sticking together I'll try it in the fridge. Since I was in winter, I could always put it in front of the window. ha ha. Overall I like this product. I personally would prefer a caffeine free product. But I understand users want it for an energy boost. The product basically follows the concepts outlined in the product details. Thus, it gets a rating of 4.25-4.5 stars with a moderately high recommendation.
