Like you, I was drawn to the price of this tube. After about 250 hours, however, it is practically unusable. When I first got this lamp, I got 66.3 watts at 50% power. I need about 50-60 watts to work, so no problem. I've been using it for about a month and then I realize it's having trouble with the simplest of contractions. My lenses are aligned so I'm checking the power. At 50% power I'm now getting 21.9 watts, which is barely enough to cut cardboard. Also, I used this tube at 55% power, which is in the mid-range. At this level I should get 6000-8000 hours with this lamp. Despite the price, this lamp is not worth the money.
