Almost the same as LG's original premium filter media

I wanted to know for myself if these filters are comparable to LG brand filters. As for the taste of the water from each filter, I couldn't tell any difference. However, it should be noted that the water I live in is pretty good straight from the tap. I decided to compare the insides of the two filters, so I opened them both up and found that they were similar. Here are the differences I noticed: The first picture shows the two filters before I took them apart. Both have double O-rings and connect without leaks. Second picture: Both appear to be about the same carbon filter thickness. Third picture: Here the internals are removed from the case and there are a few differences. I don't know if they are significant though. First, the FilterLogic has a paper filter that covers more of the carbon core than LG's. Second, the FilterLogic only has one internal O-ring while the LG has two. Fourth picture: This is the outer filter paper of both filters held up to the light. FilterLogic seems less dense than LG to me. Note that the squares in FilterLogic appear to be open (no filter paper) but they are not. There is filter paper, it is so thin that light can easily pass through. The bottom line for me is that FilterLogic LG is close enough that I will continue to use them.

Pros
  • , here at Filterlogic we use 100% natural coconut shell carbon blocks, which have twice the surface area and more micropores than lower quality carbon blocks.
Cons
  • Many things
