I was very happy to try this product because my friend used it when someone died on his doorstep in a very compromising situation in the desert when the police were doing interviews etc. I wanted to use it in hotels and for other security functions and found that it doesn't reach the handle height of the door in the standard I think, or in this hotel which doesn't seem common. Not sure why. Because now I have two of these that I can't use until I'm somewhere else. I'm not happy that I made her sit idle. I've been here for months and really needed a security feature. I ended up buying a small door wedge with a motion alarm which seems pretty good for less cost and the wedge takes up a lot less space. I'm considering a replacement and don't know when I can use them with other doors. since I didn't expect to have to measure before buying. I was maybe stupid to expect everything to fit/is standard. Would give it away but just have to pay for double shipping so might as well go back and buy again if someone really wants it. Fucked up again because I really want it... Maybe it's okay with you or even great as a friend of mine, but it's just not for me.
