Since they will be plugged into your electrical system, it is important to know if they are safe. I removed the backing and did a quick technical assessment. Overall the quality looks very good. The line, neutral and ground rails, which are the copper strips in the photos, are well separated by molded plastic and appear to be strong enough to carry the strip's rating. The incoming power lines feeding the busbars are welded to the copper lines. Surge protection is provided by some metal oxide varistors, which "short out" in the event of a high voltage surge, preventing the surge from reaching devices connected to the power strip. I didn't check the MOV values, but they were correctly connected to the busses. The build quality is good, but could be better. All USB charging ports worked - I checked by plugging in my phone and confirming that the charging icon was showing. I also randomly tested one of the four ports and the total current output was overstated - my USB amp/voltmeter showed it to be delivering 3.19 amps at 5v! The only major downside I've found is that the power button is very sensitive - if you barely touch the switch when it's on, it will momentarily turn off without even "clicking" into the off position " - see video. This will de-energize the entire bar! The power button is recessed to minimize this, but if you place it where it can bump a little, like under a table and your foot touches it, you'll lose power. The power button is also a circuit breaker, there is no separate "push to reset" switch. Overall this is a good deal for the price. Benefits -1. Good build quality (but could be better) 2.
