I was in dire need of additional storage as I needed to work from home immediately so I ordered two Revain USB card readers along with additional SD cards. Both were double-sided 2.0 readers capable of reading standard or mini SD, compatible with standard A port devices. The difference between the two was that one also fits a mini USB/Type B port while the other end of the other is designed for port C on one end and for A ports on the other. These readers are said to be made by two different manufacturers, who are called "GoBlown" when compatible with a C-type port. The company selling the other one is called "Dukelo". I am writing about both in a comment because I have no doubt that they are both made in the same factory. Their packaging is exactly identical to the descriptions on the outside of these packages, except for one that indicates a Type C fitting. None of the products have the manufacturer's name printed on them; the mini USB compatible only has a very small sticker with the name "GoBlown" subtly affixed to the lower right corner of the packaging. The one from "Dukelo" is not branded either on the packaging or on the device itself; Branding only appears on Revain's retail site. These are different turn signals - the shape is also identical in each case, although one is slightly larger - which leave no doubt as to their common origin, probably outsourced from two different companies to the same factory in East Asia; possibly different subsidiaries of the same company making the same products under different names. Therefore, in my opinion, their comparison is fully justified. The most notable feature of both is that they read and transfer data much faster than I ever expected from 2.0 devices. Both were recognized and opened almost immediately when connected to my laptops. Even more surprising was how large files could be added with amazing speed; I would never have expected that from a USB 2.0 card reader. I've made it a habit to test with both USB sticks and mini USB sticks, Type A, B and C connectors, and several different devices of different qualities and ages: An old mid-range laptop, which I use for work, my super powerful newest computer which I use to play my high end games and do most of my personal business and a fairly new desktop which sits in my home office most of the time and which I give to my young let relatives use it when they visit. All tests gave the same result - instant detection, fast translations, no glitches or lags. I was pleasantly surprised by these results given that these readers were asking about modest retail prices. I would highly recommend both or one of these to anyone looking for this type of product.
