Review on Bluetooth Amplifier Integrated Converter Streaming by David Sokolov

DA-2120c = Performance, Simplicity, and Value

I recently decided to stream audio from my computer and TV to my vintage Infinity bookshelf speakers. My old receiver gave up and I tried to build a system within budget. I also wanted to be able to use Bluetooth to stream audio to the system. I knew I needed a DAC. After a long search, I decided on the Fosi Audio DA-2120c. The first photo shows the box as I received it. It was solid and intact in the Revain box. The second photo shows the open box. The device was well protected by a closed cell foam pad. The device comes with a power adapter, a 60 cm optical cable and a USB computer cable. The included instructions appear to be translated directly from Chinese and are a bit confusing. The writing is also very small, hence the readers next to the block in the fourth image. Luckily, connecting the device and getting it up and running is fairly easy. All functions can be controlled either with the two rotary controls on the front of the device or with the supplied remote control. The left knob controls the inputs: Bluetooth (BT), Aux, Coax, USB and Optical. Press and hold the button for 3 seconds to turn the device on and off as well. The right slider controls the volume. A short press mutes and unmutes the device. Hold the button for three seconds to cycle the unit through different EQ modes. I find it much easier to use the remote control for all functions. The easy-to-read LED display shows the input used, the signal frequency in kilohertz (kHz), the EQ mode and the volume. The DISPLAY button on the remote control turns the display on or off. I bought an Avantree Oasis plus to stream from my TV. Hooking it up to the DA-2120c was easy, but there's no indication on the amp that it's paired. The only indication he bred came from the Avantree Division. Either bare wire or banana plug speaker wire can be connected to the speaker terminals on the rear of the unit. I use RCA connections and optical input and bluetooth for audio. After unpacking the device, the Bluetooth connection and pairing took about 15 minutes. I was able to figure out almost all of the features and the best EQ settings just by toggling between different buttons on the remote control. I think I could look up the owner's manual to identify the button on the remote. After making all the connections and turning the device on, I played both movies and music from both the streaming service and straight from my computer via the optical input. I was very satisfied with the sound quality and the sufficient power of the amplifier. If the device is operated at normal volume, the device does not develop any noticeable heat. It got a little warm when cranking, but never hot. In general, I am very happy that I chose this device. It had all the features I wanted in a compact and affordable package. It looks well made and feels solid. Hope it stands the test of time. I'll let you know as I intend to update this review after a few months of use.
