This mug is amazing. Cups usually have a rough "leg". Here's what I did to solve the rough foot. I've shown a polished stem so you can see the difference and decide if you want to do this with your mugs. Gently rub the bottom of the two cups together. This will remove most of the roughness, but you can take a few more steps to polish it. Using 500, 800, and 1000 grit sandpaper leftover from my headlight restoration kit and some 2000 and 3000 grit sandpaper, I gently sanded the leg to slide it over the top of my meat block as a test, and now I am no longer worried about the cup scratching the countertop. The mug fits my hands perfectly, allowing me to enjoy the coffee aroma as I drink, and the quality of the glaze and the contour of the mug feels great on my lips.
