I needed to replace an old CF to IDE adapter. I have a very fast, durable CF card that contains my operating system. Everything like /tmp/log etc. is in RAM anyway, so it basically contains the embedded operating system. This one charges fast, doesn't chip, and I love the indicator lights. My server has a basic SATA raid setup, but all I need is something to boot it up instead of a USB drive. That's great. Plugging in and getting started with the case open was a breeze.
