First of all unlike many other reviews on Revain I don't get free stuff and then I tell everyone that my reviews are honest. . Every review I write is based on a product I've purchased and used, and I get nothing in return other than sharing information. I won't even consider a review where the reviewer got something for free with the review, and you shouldn't. I have used several helmet cams, ranging from fairly expensive models to cheaper models. While very expensive cameras work well, they are often as bulky as a small box, limited in their features, and worth more for their name than for how they work. Very cheap models usually don't work at all or are so complex due to their firmware that using them is hit or miss. The whole idea of a helmet cam is that they are reliable, easy to use, have good features and just as importantly as a camera should be, it needs a well-written instruction manual as it doesn't often come with displays to use menus. This helmet cam is just the ticket. The very first thing I did was charge it up, like everyone who buys a battery is powered by something. This simply ensures that there is enough power for the device to function properly. The camera charges quickly; It could be because it's already had a good charge, or it's just an efficient charging system. I won't know until I use it for much longer rides. I will update my review over time. The first thing that struck me is that the guide is well-written, accurate, and easy to understand. If the manual was originally written in a language other than English, the translation will be close to perfect, and that's important. I highly recommend that you read the manual first and note the location of each button so you don't have to guess. Reading the manual will only take a few minutes, but it's well worth the time and will save you frustration later. The buttons and controls are really easy to use. Some other cameras are so clumsy to use that you never know if you've worked with them or not. The controls on this camera are very easy to use by touch, which is important when riding your Moto as everything needs to be done by touch. The layout and layout of the controls is the best I have ever experienced. It's impossible to guess where the controls are, and with good spacing between the video and photo controls, you can't go wrong and hit the wrong one. Who hasn't driven only to find out they pushed the wrong button and took a picture instead of capturing a video, only to find out after the ride there was no video? This won't happen with this camera, you know which button or control you used. The video and photo quality is excellent. Let's remember that this is not an expensive 4K or now 8K camera, this is HD and is designed to take photos and videos from a helmet mounted position for safety and general entertainment, record your travels and photograph interesting places. It does it as well as any camera and even better than most. The video is very clear and stable. I even took the camera off my helmet and walked around my property, running, shaking, jumping and spinning faster than any horseback ride, and the quality is surprisingly good. It's the same with photographs. The audio pickup is also very good and the speakers are more than loud enough even when the bike is ridden without fairing, I've used it on two different bikes, one bare and the other with a really good fairing on the frame. . The camera sound was very good on both. I connected the camera to a high-end smartphone and a regular phone and both connected very quickly. The visual indicator for pairing is something you can't confuse, there are no tiny invisible lights, a visual cue ensures you've got everything right. better than even some high-end cameras. They're durable and only time will tell if they hold up, but I'll update this review as time goes on. What's really nice is that the charging cable is nice and long so you don't have to figure out how to store the charger. Camera next to the charger. It's also long enough that you can connect the camera to one of those external batteries for charging, or even connect it to a smartphone that has the newer reversible USB power connectors. Many cameras come with a short charging cable, but not this one. It's also a durable cable, so durability isn't an issue. The helmet connection has both a clip and an adhesive mount. The clip attaches with strong screws for the clamp part to keep it secure and the adhesive version gives a very tight fit. Please note that when using a clamp mount, be careful not to kink the rim of your helmet or have a large bend radius as the clamp may not be large enough to hold it securely. This is not a disadvantage but common to all such mounts. In this case, simply use the supplied adhesive version. ADVICE. When you install the adhesive mount, first attach the camera to the mount, and then use tape or something similar to attach the camera and mount to the helmet and take some videos and photos. Do this while sitting on the moto so you get an angle that suits your riding style. You can use an erasable marker to mark the location and move on to a more permanent method of applying the adhesive. Just make sure the helmet surface is clean, very clean. I use 99% alcohol but just wipe and then wipe dry, don't leave alcohol on the surface of the helmet. It's just a quick wipe back and forth and then wipe over with another cloth. Then you want to be absolutely sure that the position is correct, which is why I recommended temporarily positioning the camera beforehand, because 3M tape is very strong and sticks immediately. If you make a mistake, use fishing line or even nylon thread to go between the helmet and the mount to remove it. This way you won't damage the helmet or mount. NOTE TO SELLER: Consider including an extra ribbon in case someone makes a mistake, that could happen. The camera comes with a Sandisk memory card, which is saying something because most other cameras don't include a card or send a card from an unknown source. It's a top quality memory card and I've had no errors and using it in a laptop with an adapter made it really easy to view videos and pictures and it's the method I prefer to anyone else, it works, it's the easiest , manipulate files and so on. Haven't tried WiFi yet as I really don't really need it. Wi-Fi is very power hungry and this is a camera so the battery, while very good, isn't really designed to be used as the main power source for Wi-Fi. So far, no Wi-Fi camera I've tried has worked the way you want it to. this is just a limitation of the device type and nothing new here. However, since the memory card is so affordable and easy to use, it makes sense to just use an adapter and do it that way. They make an SD card adapter that can connect to smartphones. So if you're on the go and don't have a laptop handy, the adapter will get the job done just fine. Would I end up buying another one? Yes. Would I recommend it to family and friends? Surely. Am I satisfied with my purchase? Absolutely. With the price of this helmet cam, there really is no excuse not to use a helmet cam, it can enhance the safety and enjoyment of your rides. Another nice feature of helmet cams in general is that if you need to work on your bike while you're out and about, you can record what happened and how you fixed the problem. As motorcycle racers we all interact with other people and sometimes drivers etc are not always polite or friendly. It's always good to have video footage and when someone notices you have a helmet cam often just that can change their reaction to you, get one and I highly recommend this helmet cam especially if you're not shooting or trying to make feature films to do this some professional filmmaking.
