Review on πŸ“‘ TWAYRDIO High Gain Yagi Antenna 144/430MHz, 100W, Dual Band 2M/70cm with UHF Female Connector for VHF UHF Mobile Radio, Two-Way Radio, FM Transceiver – Aluminum Alloy Yagi Antennas by Maria Williams

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Operates at the lower end of the 2m HAM band

Assembly is easy - the instructions have numbers or letters for each connection and all parts are clearly labelled. Requires #2 Phillips screwdriver for larger screws and #1 for smaller screws. The construction is solid and well designed in that regard. My antenna is preset at 143MHz (a bit low for 2m) and 435MHz. Regardless of where I positioned the gamma match, the best I could get was 144.3MHz with a 2:1 SWR, and it was higher on the rest of the US 2m ham band. I wish it would work right away in the middle of the 2m ham band (146MHz).

Pros
  • The 9.5dBi/11.5dBi high gain Yagi antenna can transmit data over a longer distance than traditional antennas. TX/RX works best when the Yagi antenna is in an open space such as a hallway. B. an apartment balcony or a roof terrace is installed.
Cons
  • Unbelievable price
