I was a little confused looking through the product listing. I had the impression that it works both from the socket and from the battery. But I decided to take a risk and buy. We needed a garland that would act as a 'pretty' power extension over the chimney in the place of our Christmas tree. When I received the garland I was relieved to see that it really is what is shown in the picture in the product listing. It was a socket plug and it was pretty much the same as the standard Christmas garland you usually use. I don't understand what the product listing means it's battery powered because I don't see any accessory or fixture that makes it battery powered in any way - just a standard plug in the wall. Overall it looks great and I'm looking forward to wearing it for Christmas. It will add a nice touch to Christmas. I hope this can clear up any confusion for anyone interested in purchasing this garland.
