This typical Starrett quality 24" combination square blade is the best. Both for me. Although the square head is too long for everyday use, the combination square head often needs the extra length and now I have it; Just put on the square head and get to work. When I'm done it goes back to a simple old rule.Chrome pickling is the only way I find it,it doesn't glare and makes the dial much more readable. You so can keep it I mainly work in wood so the 4R scales (1/64, 1/32, 1/16, 1/8) are perfect for me, expensive but highly recommended.
