The light is very bright and initially worked well. If you're looking for "dimmable" light bulbs that work with the microwave's high/low light setting, these aren't the bulbs. There's a note on the page explaining this, but it's easy to miss. They work fine on a "high" setting, but you can't use them on a "low" setting (they flicker, not dim). The bad rating is because they lasted about 2 weeks in our microwave. I'm not sure what caused them to fail. They just suddenly stopped working and when I pulled them out both bulbs had one or more burned out LEDs (see attached photo). Because of this, the entire lightbulb stopped working. Both burned out at the same time, which was strange. We ended up going back to traditional incandescent bulbs as they are high/low dimmable and these LED bulbs were too expensive for such a short lifespan. In the past we have used another brand of LED bulbs which had lower light output but only lasted about 6 months. It might just be our special GE microwave, but LED bulbs just aren't long-lasting and had the shortest lifespans of all.
