Review on YT SA-01 Inner Axle Side Seal Installation Tool by Yukon Gear & Axle by Chris Ostby

Contrary to the previous and only review I had very few problems with the tool to install new oil seals. The seals fit perfectly with little play. BTW I use some Permatex on the outer sealing ring for extra security. The tool works well if you envision a one man army or don't have 3 foot long arms to center the seal while hammering. It was difficult to determine when the sealer was fully cured. I had to do each page multiple times to install it. It's hard to tell when they're fully broken in. One side started spinning after installation, the other didn't. Since you cannot see the edges of the gasket with the tool in place, you must remove the tool to check the depth. You can tell they're set correctly when you see a tiny piece of metal between the axle tube and where the gourds are pressed against each other. When I use Permatex a small ring of sealant fills the gap but you can still see the metal when they are fully seated. I had to do each side three times to make sure they were on the same layer. Take your time and check if you don't need to repeat this as the task is simple but requires many steps to complete. Great tool for what I needed, a one person tool that doesn't require extra hands and also justifies the price with a little effort. Oh yes, MADE IN USA! So, 5 beautiful American stars.
