Top and bottom with a seam in the middle of the handle. It's in 2 pieces and when I put the 2 pieces together it doesn't push through all the way. It wobbles a bit and the tip hangs down. Doesn't look like the picture. But it works, the bacon cooks and I still love it. The best bacon! I love how the bottom catches the bacon and has a jug-like spout to drain grease. Works great in the dishwasher. I've used it a few times and if it breaks I'll probably get another one hoping they fix the bad connection in the grip. The kit comes with a small pair of pliers, but I find them useless. But nonetheless, it makes excellent bacon!
