The tiny platform is not designed for big animals, so we bought it. I made a solution by adding a metal plate to the platform and then zeroing the scale to take the weight of the metal plate. (Fig. 1). In the second picture, look at the size of the mat in the middle. This is the mat that fits the original platform. I added a double layer of non-slip shelf liner to prevent dogs from slipping on the scale. In terms of weighing and display accuracy, I have nothing to complain about, except that the USB cable could have been a bit longer. I bought this for an animal rescue so I can weigh adult dogs and large puppies that don't fit our baby scale. If the platform was made camper it would be a 5 star rating.
