It's hard to please me in beadwork, but Spartan has its own balm to the point. smell, cleanliness. There is no better way to describe it. It doesn't smell like soap, but it doesn't smell like flowers either. It is smooth. It is not solid and once it gets in your hands it turns into an oil that gets into your beard very easily. Only -complaint-, more personal preferences, not enough wax. It stays on, goes in smoothly, but as I have a large beard and tend to move around a lot, the hold falls off. I wish it would hold up a little better in the beginning so it could last a little longer for me.
