I hung this paper towel holder over the sink in my butler's pantry where I didn't want anything on the counter. The device itself is solid! In no case will it deform. As for the people who have complained about it not staying installed: you don't need to have read the online instructions. They clearly state that you need to clean the surface to which the holder will be attached and dry it thoroughly with a hair dryer. Then heat the tape with a hair dryer before removing the backing paper. Then press it onto the surface you want to install it on. Leave on for 24 hours. About an hour into installation I realized I had placed mine an inch to the left under the counter and was trying to remove it. There's no way it's coming out. Despite all the twitching and beeping, the paper towel holder didn't bend or move. I am so impressed that I immediately ordered a second one for my laundry.
