Review on ๐Ÿšฒ Continental Mountain Bike ProTection Tire - Tubeless, Folding Handmade MTB Performance Tire with Black Chili (26-inch, 27.5-inch, 29-inch) by Patrick Bacho

2.6 Trail King is bigger than some tires labeled 2.8

I bought the Trail King in 27.5 x 2.6 because it's my favorite rear tire. Compared to the Rekon 2.8 (closer to 2.63), it's wider, 2.7 inches on a 41mm rim, which is way too big. Follow the recommendation for a maximum rim width of 35mm as my sidewalls are 1-2mm wider than the profile on each side. I have LOTS of rock chips on the sidewalls and most of them did no damage. I have a 1 inch cut on the side panel and Stan sealed it well. I took it off a month ago due to losing air and wanting to rebuild my impeller. The sidewall cut turned out to be well sealed and that was my tape job. I've been using Trail Kings as my rear tire of choice since 2012 and these 2012's have given me grip on rocky and loose roads and float in the sand as I expected. The under $60 price they're currently available at is a great buy versus a Maxxis Exo sidewall while you need the double discounts to get that level of protection in Maxxis.
