2.6 Trail King is bigger than some tires labeled 2.8

I bought the Trail King in 27.5 x 2.6 because it's my favorite rear tire. Compared to the Rekon 2.8 (closer to 2.63), it's wider, 2.7 inches on a 41mm rim, which is way too big. Follow the recommendation for a maximum rim width of 35mm as my sidewalls are 1-2mm wider than the profile on each side. I have LOTS of rock chips on the sidewalls and most of them did no damage. I have a 1 inch cut on the side panel and Stan sealed it well. I took it off a month ago due to losing air and wanting to…

Great improvement over X-King

This is for Cross King tires. I purchased the Cross King in the 29 x 2.3 size and unlike previous versions this one fits true to size. It was easy to install with an air compressor and hoses. I decided to insert a tube, hit it with a compressor and let it sit for a couple of hours. This will form the bead better and you can easily remove the tire, pull out the tube and fit without a tube. I use blue Bontrager sealant and it does a good job of not leaking through the sidewall. I think that's the

Great tires for the price!

I didn't give these tires 5 stars just because they are very difficult to fit. I broke 2 plastic tire levers. I struggled for a while and had to use metal tire levers. I ordered a tire lever for next time. I upgraded from WTB Nano 2.1 to Trail King 2.4 front and rear. What a big difference, these bindings have really good grip, especially in corners, even aggressive corners with loose dirt or gravel. Also good in rocky terrain. I was also surprised at how well these tires clear mud. There are 2

Great tires that can refuel!

These tires are a HUGE upgrade from the Maxxis Rekon tires I had in the Rockies. These tires were light, soft and very fast, but they just weren't right for what I wanted to use my bike for. They struggled for traction here on loose, muddy trails when I pushed my bike and hopelessly spun when I threw a hammer. On the other hand, these are CLUTCH MACHINES. I climbed steep 17% grades covered in leaves, gravel and mud with little to no slipping. In fact, I've only managed to snap these tires when…
