They are statically attached. They are two-layer shadows. There's a dark film clinging to the window and then there's the mesh layer that you would normally expect. I wanted them for the front driver and passenger windows as the shape would suggest. And when it's light enough outside, I usually drive with them to keep the car cool and out of direct sunlight while driving. But they were too dark and opaque for that. I also have no idea how many times they can be inserted and removed before they stop sticking to the window. I would have to take them out every time I do any type of business. And because they're so dark, I had to take them off every time I drove, period. Then of course I put them back in. I ended up sending them back and ordering a different product.
