I sent back the first one I bought because it was defective. It's not uncommon for me to "go bad in a bunch" so I returned it and Revain sent me a replacement which is now being returned as well. Same problem plus one more. The first two times I used it (both), the only annoyance was trying to open the lid with just one hand while driving. So I had to do that before I had to use it so I could keep my hands on the wheel. The light was excellent - for 2 days. The reason I bought this particular ashtray was FOR THE LIGHT! Was so glad it could be charged via cable. (There was another one that was solar charged - it didn't work that well either). After 2 days the light came on when the lid was lifted and then went off. I took it inside to have a closer look and noticed that every time I lifted the lid I heard a faint click and then the light went out. Another issue with the replacement I received was that the connector port was very narrow and it was difficult to insert the charger. I saw the little red light come on so I knew it was charging and it also stopped working, there was no red light. So disappointed that both ashtrays failed so quickly as that pretty much indicated a design flaw and there wasn't much point in trying a third time. The concept is perfect but the product design and end product fail.
