I bought 4 different ashtrays and finally found this one. Simply put out the cigarette, simply open to empty and the blue light shines beautifully. If you are looking for one this is perfect!

So far so good, hasn't melted or ignited yet and the smell seems to be restrained with the lid closed. I don't know if the compass works, but it's of little use these days. Although in an ashtray, for the car.

Everything inside was metal which is perfect but the compass never worked properly which didn't matter. The light stopped working pretty quickly and the top came off a few months after purchase so I had to replace it.

This is an ashtray. The only downside is that the LED light is NOT rechargeable and I couldn't see the battery access. If you forget to close the lid, the light will burn out quickly. Chinese production. Assembly was pretty easy. Installation was easy. The compass above is fine.

Only downside is I would have liked it to be a bit taller but that's not the ashtray's fault. It is very easy to open while driving and the blue backlight makes it easy to find in the dark. It doesn't give off smoke when it's closed which is a big bonus! Highly recommended!

Exactly what I wanted for my car. They don't come with ashtrays anymore. This is placed in a cup holder. When the lid is up, it glows with a cool blue light. Holds 2 cigarettes. And lit cigarettes no longer fly into my lap when thrown out the window. Thanks to those of us who still crave a cigarette while driving.

Okay, that's an ashtray. But I've had it for about a month now and I like the size and the light. It fits perfectly in my cup holder with Kuzi on it. So I basically "recycled" old 12 ounce plastic soda bottles (with some liquid in the bottom) for this purpose with it I could smell a stale cigarette coming from my car. That makes it a lot easier to get rid of cigarette butts while driving (because of the wide opening), but not really much to put out the cigarette, so even after the lid is closed more smoke is hurled through the cabin.
