Versatility doesn't always mean versatility. It didn't fit on the back of our TV. We had to attach a piece of wood to the back of the TV to use this. Also be warned: I wouldn't buy this because of the larger TV that is said to be able to fit. We bought this for a 40"-42" TV and I'm not sure this flimsy mount can support a fairly heavy TV, especially when hanging from the ceiling. I'm still waiting for the big bang (not just one) when my TV falls to the floor. I hope not. We took extra precautions to prevent this: we attached the TV to a piece of wood screwed into studs in the ceiling. I highly recommend adding this as a precaution, especially for a large and heavy TV. I have to say that overall it BLOWS to hang around with all the extra mods and whatnot. However, we had no choice. The wall we wanted to place the TV against was the mirrored wall in the gym. Either the ceiling or nothing. Hanging a TV on the wall is much easier when you can go that route. I think it would be good for a smaller TV.
