Review on Progressive Suspension 10 1568 Fork Lowering by Arnold Carrigan

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Control Dyna Glide with the comfort of Electra Glide rides.

Finally! I feel in control of my 14 Electra Glide. I installed Burly rear fork mounts 3 weeks ago which lowered the rear end an inch. I suspected they helped a bit but to get the full effect of lowering the bike. I knew I needed to lower the front of the bike an inch as well. So I bought the Progressive (1 inch) kit. Today my mechanic installed the assembly, very expensive by the way, no kit, installation. Book calls for 4 hours of work so get ready, it's not exactly cheap. But I thought of trading in the absolutely wonderful Electra Glide for a tricycle so I wouldn't have to worry about my 29-inch inseam being too short to handle the 975-pound behemoth. As I sat on the bike, legs apart, it felt like I was seat height on a Dyna 25 slide! I mean, that feeling was such a powerful confidence booster. I took it on a 75-mile ride through freeways and mountains full of twisty places. It was excellent! If you're thinking about lowering your bike, trust me when I tell you, you won't get what you want until you drop the fork, too. In addition, the wheel is completely level again. I can now stand on a bike with a flat tire and can really keep my feet out of the hot exhaust. Speaking of corner handling. never been better. It's like riding a motorized Dyna with the weight and comfort of the world's best touring bike. Harley Davidson Electra Glide. I would highly recommend this kit to anyone with sponge shocks currently, they aren't really progressive as with a stiffer spring on one end versus a more open one on the other. The springs are the same everywhere, with great lifting power. My mechanic calls them "non-progressive" shocks from Progressive Suspension Inc. Total headroom was 1 inch front and rear. Tomorrow I'm gonna pull some curves on Blue Ridge Boulevard. (My favorite ride is about 45 miles from where I live)
